The foundation of this site is the BG-PX system. This system was created to leverage various fields of work in User Experience Design (UX) and apply those to the world of board games. The vision is that this is a way to understand the player experience and therefore improve the games we make. The extended version of this system includes 10 categories with 10 metrics in each, for a total of 100 metrics by which a board game can be assessed.
At the launch of the blog on this site, my intention is to write a full article on each of those 100 metrics. With a schedule of a new one every other week, this will take about 4 years to complete. In addition to this I will use the off weeks to consider how various UX principles, UX methods, design principles, and other topics related to UX impact player experience.
